All This And Heaven Too

Hello everyone! I'm back today with another outfit post (I'm trying out a new format this time!) from when we went to Savannah, Georgia this weekend, and I though it would be a good time to update you on whats been going on recently in my life. So, as you may know, I am currently in my senior year of high school, which means I'm at the point in life where I need to decide what I want to do, and this is an incredibly daunting task.

The sole purpose for this trip to Savannah was to visit a college I applied to (The Savannah College of Art and Design), so I thought I would share my interests and current college options. At the beginning of the year, I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do; all I knew was that I was expected to go to college (a decision both my parents and I came to a long time ago). However, to this day I am still uncertain of what I hope to major in, which is why I have been and will be visiting so many schools.

I ended up applying to nine schools total - of which I was accepted into six (Savannah College of Art and Design, the University of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University Arts, Virginia Tech, the College of William and Mary, and the Fashion Institute of Technology). As you can probably tell, these school represent a diverse range of specialties and majors, so I will share my motives to applying to each of these schools.

I have a wide range of interests - most of which happen to be rooted in art. Currently, I am enrolled in AP 2D studio art, having taken three years of art classes and spending last summer at VCU taking art classes. However, I know I am not interested in painting for the rest of my life; instead, I want to be able to use my visual eye and creativity in other fields. As you may know as you are on it, I am a fashion blogger and have always been inspired through clothing, so maybe fashion marketing is for me? But besides fashion and blogging, I love film. For me, film can be a very expressive art form, and I love spending weekends editing my projects. Though shooting and editing can sometime become a little tedious, I love transforming an idea to raw clips to a unique product. However, film and fashion are not the only two creative careers I am looking at.

The other two majors I am also interested are in industrial design and graphic design. However, my biggest concern with these "creative careers" is finding a steady job (let me know if you are interested in a more in-depth explanation of these careers/majors and other information of learned from visiting these schools), and because of this concern, I am also looking at business schools like UVA and William and Mary. Anyhow, wish me lots of luck with coming to a final decision - I will definitely need it!

Sorry for such a long post today! I hope you liked this look (unfortunately the top got pretty wrinkled in my suitcase, and our hotel room had no iron).

Skirt - Zara

Shoes - Birkenstocks

Choker - Free People

(The title of this post is named after a Florence + The Machine song!)
