Changes

As you guys requested (via Instagram - you can follow me @gone2nyc), I attempted a professional look. Seeing as I've never worked an office job before, this was way out of my comfort zone, and I'm still not 100% happy with the outcome. Ideally I would've preferred a salmon colored blouse to the top I was wearing - one because a blouse is more formal, and two because the color scheme was slightly off. In my closet, however, professional wear is something I lack.

Anyhow, I hope these pictures still give some inspiration to what you may want to wear for professional occasions. Color blocking tends to keep an overall look very clean and can show a sort of bold confidence in your outfit. I also love wearing strips too for these occasions because they are classic and match well with color blocking. While I could've gone "the easy route" and simply picked a dress to wear, I find when I dress for work, I tend towards pants and tops due to comfort reasons as I move around, but maybe that's less of an issue with office jobs?

Anyhow, next up will be a formal look, and I am looking forward to that because I love dressing up and feel like I haven't done it in a while on the blog. Later this summer, I hope to post another professional look because I loved the challenge and would like to follow up with other ideas. While I love my comfortable Old Navy blazer and J Crew Factory Pants for professional wear, I know I can find something else more in my comfort zone. I hope you're having a fun summer so far, and I look forward to throwing together more looks for the blog - stay tuned!
